Bringing AXIOM more than 13 years of design and management experience with specialties in historic preservation and higher education architecture, Anne Walker is known for her expertise in preservation architecture.

Working in a variety of areas of architecture, including commercial, institutional and residential has allowed Anne to design new buildings as well as renovate and restore older structures.

A fascination with “the blending of science and art that goes into the design and construction of buildings” is what initially led Anne, a graduate of the University of Kansas, to follow her chosen career path.

Throughout her career she has performed interior and exterior restoration on numerous projects, from national monuments to antique cottages.

Since joining AXIOM Architects, Inc. Anne has become known for her work with clients with older homes that require updates for modern living. It is the “challenge and opportunity of working in the oldest part of the country on historic buildings” that excites Anne most.

“This is my favorite type of project; we learn a lot from these historic properties which were designed for the beautiful New England landscape. I am inspired when I hear clients describe what they love about their home and am delighted to help them maintain historic elements while adding the missing pieces to achieve the perfect home for today’s way of life.”
