The Fairview Inn in Marshfield represents an interpretive reconstruction of an historic inn which had burnt down. Utilizing the existing footprint, maintaining views and adhering to the look and feel of the original inn were all important considerations in the design.

The program called for a restaurant with commercial kitchen on the first floor, and guest rooms and amenities upstairs. The reconstructed Fairview Inn creates, within the historic vernacular, a building which is both old and new, and a building that is once again a seaside landmark in the town.
